03022012 conseil constitutiBARDO (TAP) - The National Constituent Assembly (NCA) adopted, on Friday afternoon during its plenary session in Bardo, the distribution of seats of the Assembly's six constitutive committees, eight legislative committees and three special committees, on the basis of proportional representation of each political group and taking into  consideration of the largest remaining.

The 22 seats of these committee have been shared out as follows:

·        Ennahdha Movement group, 9 seats

·        Democratic group, 3 seats

·        Congress Party group, 3 seats

·        Ettakatol Party group, 2 seats

·        Freedom and Democracy group, 2 seats

·        Freedom and Dignity group, 1 seat

·        People's Petition (el-Aridha) group, 1 seat

·        A seat has been given to the NCA members not belonging to any constituent group.

The six constitutive committees are: the committee of  the Preamble, the Fundamental Principles and the Amending of the Constitution, the Rights and Freedoms Committee, the Committees of Relations between the Legislative and the Executive Powers, the Committee of Judicial, Administrative, Financial and Constitutional Jurisdictions, the Committee of Constitutional Institutions and the Committee of Regional and Local Public Associations.

The eight legislative committees are: the committee of rights, liberties and foreign relations, the committee of general legislation, the committee of finance, planning and development, the committee of energy and productive sectors, the committee of the services sector, the committee of infrastructure and environment, the committee of social affairs and the committee of educational affairs.

As regards the three special committees, they are: the committee of the interior rules and immunity, the committee of martyrs and the wounded of the Revolution and the implementation of the general amnesty and the committee of the administrative reform and fight against corruption.

With the formation of these committees, the National Constituent Assembly could, from now on, start the key mission for which it was elected, particularly that of penning the country's new constitution, pointed out NCA first deputy-speaker Mehrzia Laabidi, at the end of the plenary session.
