TUNIS (TAP)- Sources close to the Government denied on Friday the transfer of a part of Radès port operations to a Danish company.

Activities in Radès port were indeed disrupted on Friday by protests staged by the staff of Tunisia's Lighterage and Handling Company (STAM), in reaction to news that part of the port's activities were to be transferred  to a Danish firm. 

The Danish ambassador had recently a meeting with Transport Minister Abdelkarim Harouni during which he had proposed the assistance of Danish company Maersk to shorten quay periods for boats and to improve the port activities.
