TUNIS (TAP) - The Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) described the Tunisian Government's decision to expel Syria's Ambassador as "hasty, improvised and ill-considered."
"This decision has not taken into consideration either diplomatic protocols or Tunisia's commitment to establish relations with Arab countries without any interference," UGTT said in a statement released, on Monday, at the end of its Executive Board meeting.
UGTT calls for reviewing this decision and consulting with members of the National Constituent Assembly as a competent legitimate entity, when taking decisions on all sovereignty issues including foreign relations.
However, the UGTT Executive Board emphasises its staunch support for the Syrian people's right to freedom and fight against despotism, away from all foreign interference," which according to the Union, "exploits the Syrian people's resistance to expand its control over the region."
The UGTT also denounces the massacres and tortures perpetrated by the Syrian regime against its people.
