CARTHAGE (TAP) - President Moncef Marzouki received on Thursday delegates of "Reprieve" organisation for the defence of prisoners' rights, who briefed him about the activities and programmes of the international organisation which is fighting for the closing of Guantanamo prison.

Moncef Marzouki stressed Tunisia's care for the situation of its expatriates and its commitment to settle, as soon as possible, the situation of Tunisian prisoners in Guantanamo, expressing the readiness of Tunisia to co-operate with "Reprieve" and the governments concerned to settle this delicate issue.

"Reprieve" is a group of non-governmental charity organisations which fight for the abolition of the death penalty and for the defence of prisoners' rights notably in Guantanamo.
