JENDOUBA (TAP) - The World Bank approved a 4-million-dinar (MTD) grant to help the Governorate of Jendouba finance projects with high employability, particularly in border and mountainous areas.
This grant came in response to an application filed by regional authorities to the World Bank last June and comprising social, unemployment and poverty indicators in these areas, said a regional source.
Funds will be released over two years to finance employment projects prepared by development associations.
These funds will be divided as follows: 70% for workforce, 20% for equipment and 10% for management spending.
Representatives of the World Bank have held meetings in the region since last December to evaluate the management capacities of development associations.
A steering committee of projects proposed by development associations was set up by representatives of regional divisions and the civil society.
