TUNIS (TAP) - Minister of the Interior Ali Larayedh, Wednesday, condemned the "heinous crime," "the terrorist act" and the "blatant political assassination" that had targeted Secretary-General of the Unified Democratic Patriotic Party Chokri Belaid.
"This act had not targeted only Chokri Belaid but also all the political class and all Tunisians," he told several media.
He added: "this crime is a blow to the democratic transition experience in Tunisia."
The Minister of the Interior said the security apparatus will strive to chase and bring to justice criminals who planned and carried out this act.
"Tunisia is going through a critical political phase and we should come together to face up to violence and close the gap before the discord, terror and anarchy that are targeting the country," he warned.
