Tunisia ranked among ''Africa lions'' A report of the "Boston Consulting Group" (BCG) ranks Tunisia among the 8 African states named « Lions of Africa », in reference to the Asian tigers and the BRICK countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Korea ). The report entitled « The African Challengers: Global Competitors Emerge from the Overlooked Continents » was published last July 20. This group includes in addition to Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Libya and Algeria (North Africa), South Africa, Botswana and Mauritius. The 40 challengers of the continent, the « Africa Lions » are so called because they host 35 and 40 « challengers » identified by BCG. The « challengers » are « the big African companies whose performance and ambitions show the vitality of a continent whose economic success is still often underestimated ». Tunisia: best internet connection in Africa and the Arab world The internet connection in Tunisia is the best in Africa and in the Arab world according to the first rankings carried out by US Ookla company regarding the quality of connection. These rankings, published last July 27 are based on thousands of tests carried out on the website "www.pringtest.net". In the last 30 days, the tests carried out by Tunisian internet surfers have allowed Tunisia to get the "R Factor 85,74" mark. According to the standards set by the international telecommunications union, this mark shows the existence of good conditions for the use of instantaneous services such as audio and video communications. At world level and for these first rankings of connection quality, Ookla ranks Tunisia 10th out of 60 countries registered, ahead of Switzerland, France, Denmark and even the United States. This rather good result is also reinforced by the last world rankings regarding browsing speed by country. This report published by Ookla has moved Tunisia up 5 ranks since last month, from 92th to 87th. This performance has allowed Tunisia to keep its first rank in the Maghreb and move up to the 4th rank in the Arab world, behind Saudi Arabia , Qatar and Kuwait. |
