CARTHAGE, Feb. 8, 2010 (TAP) - On the commemoration of the 52nd anniversary of the Sakiet Sidi Youssef events, President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali received a message of consideration from Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika in which he asserts that the Sakiet Sidi Youssef events represent "one of the most glorious battles" fought by the two brotherly peoples, whose blood mingled on Tunisian soil, consecrating the ties of mutual help and solidarity binding them and materialising the common destiny that united them.

On this occasion, the Algerian President reasserts his admiration and esteem for the two countries' martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of freedom, dignity and independence.

In this message, President Abdelaziz Bouteflika also points out that the Sakiet Sidi Youssef events "will always be, as a testimony of the long-standing fraternal bonds tying the Algerian and Tunisian peoples, a source of inspiration for the young generations that will incite them to boost solidarity and cohesion on the path of edification," and encourage them to further strengthen the two countries' excellent relations.
