TUNIS, March 4, 2010 (TAP) - German airline company Lufthansa seeks to strengthen, as of next March 29, 2010, its Tunisia-Frankfurt line with three new weekly flights, increasing them from 7 presently to 10 flights a week.
This new schedule offers Lufthansa passengers three new options for flights from Tunis early in the afternoon (by midday), to ensure wider flexibility and more connections at the Frankfurt hub. Mr. Werner Kellerhals, Director-General of Lufthansa for the Maghreb, Malta and Senegal, meeting with journalists on Thursday, said the decision to strengthen the carrier's presence in Tunisia is the result of the country's political stability, its favourable economic and social environment, such assets which, he said, make of Tunisia a stable market that meets the needs of the company's business customers. He pointed out that the new flights will depart from Tunis at 12:15 on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Lufthansa's turnover fell by 20% in 2009, compared with 2008, as a consequence of the economic and financial crisis. The German company offers services to 90 destinations in 78 countries, from the two airports of Frankfurt and Munich. Lufthansa was recently elected best European airline by travel professionals in the world. |
