(TAP) - The Tunisia Forward movement deemed very "small" the number of female and youth candidates for the upcoming legislative elections, adding that the issue of endorsements is at the root of this problem.

The movement pointed out in a statement released on Monday that some constituencies only registered one or two candidates, recalling that it had warned against the consequences of the amendments to the electoral law on the representation of women and youth among the candidates.

Tunisia Forward also warned against the potential effects of the small number of candidates on the voter turnout on the polling day.

Besides, the movement welcomed the fact that all its candidates have succeeded in collecting the required number of endorsements, calling on the country's progressive forces to participate massively in the December 17 elections.
