(TAP) - The turnout in the second round of legislative elections 2023 recorded at 11 am is 4.71%, announced Sunday Farouk Bouaskar, President of the Independent High Authority for Elections (ISIE). At a press briefing held at the Convention Center in Tunis, Bouaskar said that out of a total of 7853447 registered voters, 369 561 came to the polls on Sunday between 8am and 11am, a turnout of 4.71%. "This is a very respectable rate and better than the rate recorded in the first round at the same time," he said. Bouaskar said that the electorate is formed of 5827949 registered voters voluntarily including 354366 ie 6.08% went to the polls and 2025498 automatically registered voters including 15195 ie 0.75% went to the polls until 11am. According to the same source, 20.94% of voters were women and 79.08% were men. 44.9% of voters are over 60 years old, 32.6% are aged between 46 and 60 years, 20.8% are aged between 36 and 45 years and 1.7% are aged between 23 and 35 years. The ISIE president reported that until 11:00 am no major violations were noted and the voting operation is conducted under good conditions in all voting centers. |
