(TAP)- The second edition of the Mediterranean Documentary Film Festival in Tunisia "DocuMed" will be held from April 24 to 27 at the Ibn Khaldoun Culture Centre.

Among the 700 long and short films submitted, 20 films were selected from 11 countries: Algeria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Egypt, Spain, France, Italy, Lebanon, Palestine, Tunisia, Turkey and Morocco.

Among the 20 films selected are 10 feature films and 10 short films. Tunisian cinema will be present with only one film, "Tunisiens assoiffés", a feature film by Ridha Tlili.

DocuMed – “Regards Documentaires Méditerranéens à Tunis”-, founded by the association Cinéma Documentaire Tunisien, organises screenings of documentary films, mainly creative and independent, from countries around the Mediterranean. The festival is rooted in Tunisia's national territory and focuses on cinematographic creations from the Mediterranean region in a spirit of openness to anthropological, cultural and social diversity.

DocuMed aims to enable documentary cinema, as a form of questioning about the world, humans and art, to participate in debates on ideas, knowledge, representations and imaginations in Tunisia. It encourages the public for the documentary film genre and provides as many people as possible with access to theoretical and practical knowledge of documentary creation.
