(TAP) - More than 1.5 million visitors are expected for nearly 90 days marked by 150 events labeled "The Blue Season: Tunisia the Appointments of the Sea" whose official launch will be given on June 19 with the official launch of a series events that will continue until September with the closing of the Forum of the Sea in Bizerte".

The precise date has not yet been set: between the 20th and 21st, two major events will be held at the same time, namely Les Dunes électroniques in Nefta, within the heart of the Desert, and the Bizerte sea Forum, the city of waves.

This second event is held under the slogan "Protect your sea!", with the participation of more than 100 associations and non-governmental organisations in 50 cities.

It is symbolised this year by the blue sponge of the Tunisian archipelago of the Kerkennah Islands and will feature events celebrating the riches of the sea in all its forms: shows, cinema, festivals, exhibitions, concerts, conferences, maritime heritage, living culture, coastal tourism... so many activities that will bring to life from Tabarka to Zarzis the 1,400 kilometers of Tunisian coasts.

The objective is to raise awareness among decision-makers, citizens and tourists of the virtuous exploitation of a coastline that suffers "as everywhere in the world from a real climate terrorism with more mass than fish" said French Ambassador to Tunisia, Olivier Poivre d'Arvor in his capacity as President of the Musée national de la marine de France, member of the organising committee, at the press conference held Monday morning in the Berges du Lac, to announce the second edition of the "Blue Season 2019.
