(TAP) - A regional seminar on cultural management will be held on August 1, 2 and 3, 2019 in Tunis for members of the National Committees of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ISESCO).

According to a statement issued Wednesday by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, this event will be organised as part of the celebration of the event "Tunis Capital of Islamic Culture 2019" for the Arab region.

It will be held at ISESCO's initiative, in partnership with the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and the National Anti-Corruption Authority (INLUCC).

This seminar will be attended by representatives of Arab countries, namely Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Mauritania, Morocco, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Emphasis will be placed on the role of the cultural sector as one of the key elements for sustainable development. The role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) will also be highlighted as a vehicle for the development of cultural management capacities.

Workers in National Committees in Isesco's member countries will have the opportunity to learn about pilot experiences and best practices in cultural management and good governance.

According to the same source, the participants will discuss "ways of modernising jurisdictions in Isesco's member countries in order to support cultural projects and programmes".

The meeting will also determine the role of international organisations, the private sector and civil society institutions in the financing and implementation of cultural programmes in the Arab region.
