Call for application for achievement of commemorative artwork for Tunisian martyrs victim of terrorist acts

(TAP) – The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, under the Cultural Affairs Ministry, has launched a call for application to choose creators of a commemorative artwork for Tunisian martyrs victim of terrorist acts in Tunisia.

This artwork will be set up at the Kasbah Square, downtown Tunis.

This project consists of the achievement of a commemorative artwork in memory of the 179 Tunisian martyrs victim of terrorist acts, the ministry said in a press release Thursday.

This call for application targets plastic artists, sculptors, architects, designers and professionals in the art field. The candidates must submit their applicationsto the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Arts before August 29.

A ten-member jury, each representing a public body or a professional structure stemming from the art field, will assess the files from august 30 and up till September 2. A list of the five leading candidates will be transmitted to the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Arts’ directorate.

Members of the jury represent the ministries of Cultural Affairs, Public Works, Housing and Spatial Planning, the Prime Ministry, the Governorate of Tunis, the Municipality of Tunis, the National Institute of Heritage (French: INP), the Architects’ Association, the Union of Tunisian Plastic Artists (French: UAPT), the Union of Plastic Art Occupations and the Tunisian Federation of Plastic Artists.

Three projects will be rewarded. The first will be granted an award amounting to 12 million dinars, the second (5 MD) and the third (3 MD).
