(TAP) - Tunisian filmaker Baya Medhaffar's short film "Festina Lente" has been shortlised in the Flash Competition of the 32nd Marseille International Film Festival (FIDMarseille), held on July 19-25.

The Flash competition is a new competition initiated this year at FIDMarseille which will show films as dazzling as lightnings, true cinematic proposals, regardless of their brief duration, the festival's website reads.

This competition is transversal to all the other competitions, just as the one for first films and candidates for the Cnap Prize. Two prizes will be awarded, including, for the first time this year, the Alice Guy Prize which will go to a female director in the Flash competition.

Every year in early July, the FIDMarseille, directed by Jean-Pierre Rehm, proposes a programme of 130 films to approximately 23,500 spectators, in cinemas, theaters, libraries, art galleries, and in open-air amphitheaters throughout the city. The festival presents a large number of films in their world premiere as well as first films. Today, the FIDMarseille is recognized as a source of new cinemas, both documentary productions as well as fiction films.
