"Fashion Africa”: 1st fashion show organised in Tunis

(TAP) – The 1st African fashion show “Fashion Africa” was organised on Sunday in Tunis at the initiative of the Tunisia-Africa Business Council (TABC).

This initiative, the 1st of its kind, aims to facilitate the social and cultural integration of sub-Saharan nationals in Tunisia while presenting Africa in all its ethnic and cultural diversity through language and clothing, TABC President Bassem Loukil told TAP.

The organisation of this fashion show by the TABC, a non-governmental organisation founded in May 15, 2015, is part of cultural and social programmes aimed to boost South-South economic co-operation.

“A new generation of passionate young stylists has emerged in different African countries thus the need to organise fashion shows to promote fashion in Africa that wants to carve out a place in the fashion world at the international level,” he added.

In this regard, seven sub-Saharan and Tunisian startups, namely Nesrine, Tri-Afrique, Liffers Clothing, Afrostyle Couture, Salah Barka, Rahma Nejah and Zaier Emna participated in this fashion show.

TABC, a true ambassador for African fashion in Tunis, intends to make of this event a permanent rendez-vous to present the African Continent in all its splendor and beauty.
