Foreign investment up 20.6% at end of July 2018 (FIPA)

(TAP) - Foreign investment flows reached 1,345.2 million dinars (MD) at the end of July 2018, up 20.6 percent compared to the same period of 2017 and 26.9% compared to 2016.

According to statistics published recently by the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA), foreign investments are distributed at a rate of 77.2 MD in portfolio and 1,268 MD in foreign direct investment (FDI), which grew 19.5% compared to last year.

Foreign investment in the industrial sector went up by 15% from July 2017 to 477.9 MD, while energy investment increased 13.1% to 616.6 MD.

In the services sector, foreign investment jumped 73.1 percent to 167.5 million and those in agriculture 52.5 percent to 5.89 million.
