Decisions to boost tourism and handicrafts in Jendouba governorate

(TAP) -The Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts decided to double the tourist premium allocated to the delegations of Ain Drahem and Tabarka (Jendouba governorate) and give special support to the international festivals of Tabarka and Bulla Regia for 2019, while speeding up this support.

During a working session held on Thursday at the Ministry's headquarters, under chairmanship of Tourism Minister René Trabelsi and the regional authorities of Jendouba, the Tourism Department also decided to include the municipality of Beni Mtir among the tourist municipalities and to rehabilitate the tourist circuit of the region.

It was also decided to create a joint commission between the Ministries of Tourism and Handicrafts and Transport to revive the activity of Tabarka International Airport.

Updating the rehabilitation studies of the Faj El Atlal tourist circuit in Ain Draham and providing the tourist land agency with the land parcel in 2019 at the cost of 14 million dinars.

The Ministry of Tourism also plans to devote an exhibition space to artisans in the region at a cost of about 500 thousand dinars and to develop 35 kiosks to market the handicrafts at the level of national highway N° 17 connecting Fernana to Tabarka via Ain Drahem, worth 350 thousand dinars.
