Tunis-Carthage airport to reopen to public Thursday

(TAP) – Tunis-Carthage airport will reopen Thursday to the public after a month-and-a-half closure over security reasons.

The decision was made following a meeting which Prime Minister Youssef Chahed had on Wednesday morning with Interior and Transport Ministers Hichem Fourati and Hichem Ben Ahmed, respectively.

The latter briefed the Premier on mechanisms put in place to strengthen preventative security measures in the airport, reads a Prime Ministry press release.

The furtherance of the airport link road project and deadlines for its implementation were looked at.

Access to the airport has been strictly forbidden since June 27, in the wake of twin terrorist attacks in Tunis.
