(TAP) - The Tunisian Automotive Management Academy (TAMA), a project carried out with German partnership support, will be officially inaugurated on September 19 in Sousse, in the presence of Head of Section at the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation Gunther Beger.

The fruit of a partnership between the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) and 4 automobile groups (DRÄXLMEIER, LEONI, Marquardt and Kromberg & Schubert) as part of the project "Partnership for employment and support to medium-sized enterprises," launched by GIZ, the TAMA was implemented by BBW (Bildungswerk der Bayerischen Wirtschaft, the educational association of the Bavarian economy).

This academy is a learning centre which will qualify in a targeted mannar the candidates for middle management positions in the four founding groups as well as in others. The aim of this initiative is to face the shortage of skilled middle managers in the Tunisian automotive sector through professional development, GIZ explains in a press release.

The project aims to create 260 training positions and 7,500 additional jobs.

The academy's courses will begin in September 2019 and will end in April 2020. During this first pilot phase, 58 participants from the four companies will be trained in project management, economics, soft skills and lean management. In the second phase, the academy will be structured to become a sustainable organisation.
