(TAP) - A Financial Action Task Force (FATF) delegation is starting Monday a two-day visit to Tunisia to decide on Tunisia’s removal from the list of countries subject to monitoring.

Tunisia seeks to be delisted as it developed an action plan to counter money laundering and terrorism funding.

The outcome of the visit will be made known starting from September 17, when the visit comes to an end, but will officially be announced in October during FATF’s General Assembly.

The FTAF is an inter-governmental body founded in 1989 that aims to set standards and promote effective implementation of legal, regulatory and operational measures for combating money laundering, terrorist financing and other related threats to the integrity of the international financial system.
