(TAP) - The World Bank (WB) is ready to continue its support to Tunisia and back its reform programmes and development projects, WB Resident Representative in Tunisia Tony Verheijen said at a meeting Thursday with Minister of Economy, Finance and Investment Support Ali Kooli.

During this meeting held in the presence of the Resident Representative of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Tunisia, Georges Ghorra, and Secretary of State to the Minister of Economy, Finance and Investment Support in charge of Public Finance and Investment, Khalil Chtourou, Kooli affirmed the government's commitment to pursue the reform process in order to give a new impetus to the national economy.

The Minister stressed the need to continue the partnership with the WB in financing development projects and budget support.

He considered that the Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to be held by VTC mode in October 2020 will provide an opportunity to discuss the best ways to strengthen this partnership for the coming period.
