(TAP) - United Nations Resident Coordinator in Tunisia Arnaud Peral emphasised at his meeting Wednesday, with Minister of Economy, Finance and Investment Support Ali Kooli the UN's keenness to contribute to developing a strategic vision for a new development approach that helps create wealth and promote sustainable and inclusive development.

At the meeting that was attended by Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme in Tunis, Steve Utterwulghe, Peral expressed the UN organisation’s concern to continue providing the necessary technical and financial support so that Tunisia could achieve its goals in this direction.

He said the work programme that was set in the UN Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF 2021-2025) will focus on four main axes. These include continue supporting the democratic transition and social, development, economic and environmental policies, which fall within the sustainable development goals contained in the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations.

For his part, Minister of Economy, Finance and Investment Support Ali Kooli said the work programmes that were approved within the UNDAF for the next phase are in line with the national priorities that came in the government's action plan. These especially focus on sustainable development, equitable distribution of wealth, support for the green economy and improving the living conditions of the population, especially the vulnerable groups, he pointed out.

Kooli stressed keenness to continue and deepen coordination between the two sides and the various actors, in order to help crystallize new and viable perceptions of economic and social development.
