(TAP) - The National Agency for Cyber Security (French: ANCS) and the Italian National Cybersecurity Agency signed on Thursday a Memorandum of Understanding that will make it possible to improve the exchange of experience and know-how and the development of competent skills in the field of cyber security.

The MoU is based on the agreement of the two sides to cooperate in the digital field within the framework of further coordination of international efforts in the field of information security, protection of cyberspace and ensuring digital sovereignty.

It aims to further develop preparedness, responsiveness and vigilance to ensure early detection and efficient and effective response to cyber threats.

The MoU was signed by Yassine Jemaiel, Director General of the National Agency for Cyber Security (ANCS), and Bruno Fratassi, Director General of the Italian National Agency for Cyber Security.

The Minister of Communication Technologies, Nizar Ben Neji, highlighted the importance of this memorandum, which will contribute to the development of cooperation between Tunisia and Italy in the field of cyber and information security.

This will be achieved through the establishment of joint cooperation mechanisms, the exchange of experiences and the training of skills in this field.

Minister Ben Neji highlighted the Ministry's ongoing efforts to strengthen the protection of national cyberspace, promote digital trust and protect vital infrastructure.

In this context, he noted that the Ministry relies on the efforts of the Telecommunications Technical Agency (ANCS) and the National Electronic Certification Agency (ANCE) to achieve these objectives.

He also recalled that the Ministry is working to strengthen the legal and regulatory framework in the field of cybersecurity, especially after the promulgation of Decree No. 17.

The decree organises the field of cyber security and defines the missions of the ANCS and the means available to ensure the security of the national cyber space in accordance with its missions, including the strengthening of digital sovereignty as part of the national digital strategy.
