(TAP) – The Open Skies agreement will be inked between Tunisia and the European Union on December 11 at the Prime Ministry’s headquarters, Tourism and Handicraft Minister Salma Elloumi Rekik announced on Thursday in Hammamet.

This agreement will contribute to boosting the Tunisian tourism and developing the tourist flow to the country, the minister told TAP on the fringes of the 46th meeting of the National Board of Tunisian Tourism (ONTT) overseas representatives.

“There is no reason to be afraid of this agreement, especially as all the competing countries in this field have long since adopted it given the facilitations it provides to tourism, she said, recalling that the Tunis-Carthage Airport will not be concerned by this agreement for five years during which the authorities will endeavour to enhance the national carries’ competitiveness.

The inking of this agreement will help reinforce the flow of charter airlines and increase the number of visitors notably the youth category with limited financial resources.
