(TAP) - The Tunisian Union of Agriculture and Fisheries (UTAP), on Thursday, strongly condemned the "disastrous decision” of the US President to recognise Al-Quds as the capital of Israel and move his country’s embassy to it.

It said in a statement that this decision "constitutes a provocation for Arabs, Muslims and all free men in the world" and called on the Arab countries and the Tunisian people to "protest against this decision and express their support for the Palestinian cause".

The union expressed its dissatisfaction with "the bias of the US administration and its strategic coalition with the Zionist entity," drawing attention to the dangerous repercussions this measure could have on security and stability in the world.

Donald Trump announced Wednesday his decision to move the US embassy to Al-Quds while the international community does not recognise the sovereignty of Israel over the entire city home to holy sites for Jewish, Christian and Muslim religions.
