An explosion occurred on April 13, 2018 in a house in Kelibia, Nabeul governorate without causing casualties.

The explosion caused the window panes to burst and caused some material damage inside the house, as reported by eyewitnesses and Nabeul governor Salwa Khiari.

According to a statement from the department, the owner intended to use this bomb (which could be activated remotely) against security forces and security units in Kelibia.

In his interrogation, the suspect confessed to having tried such a bomb in deserted and isolated places. "For its making, he had used a mixture of chemicals sold on the market, such as phosphorus, flammable substances, ammonite and homemade explosives," the statement said.

According to the new elements of the investigation, this suspect also admitted to having recruited other Takrifis to contribute to the financing, planning and the execution of his terrorist plan.

"These Takfiris were arrested and acknowledged their complicity with this suspect," the source said.

Consulted on this subject, the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Judicial Counter-Terrorism Division ordered that eight Takfiris who are directly involved in the planning and preparation of terrorist acts to be detained.
