(TAP) - Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui, on Monday, had a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Unity Government of Libya Taher Siala. Ways to strengthen bilateral relations and complementarity between the two sister countries and the latest developments regarding the political process in Libya were discussed at the conversation, said a statement from the Foreign Affairs Department. The two ministers took stock of the preparation of the visit that will soon be made by a high-level Tunisian business delegation in Tripoli, in concretisation of the outcome of the preparatory work of the Tunisian-Libyan High Joint Commission held on July 4-5 in Tunis. According to the statement, the Foreign Minister and his Libyan counterpart reviewed the progress of the political operation in Libya and efforts to help all Libyan protagonists focus on dialogue and negotiations and find an inter-Libyan consensual political solution to the crisis in this country under the UN umbrella. Khemaies Jhinaoui renewed to his Libyan counterpart "the importance of working to overcome the blocked situation of the political process.” He recalled the initiative of President Beji Caïd Essebsi favouring the success of a political solution and consolidating Tunisia’s efforts to help Libya overcome the crisis and alleviate the suffering of its people. |
