Presidential polls: Hammami campaigns in Bizerte

(TAP)- Presidential candidate of the Popular Front Movement Hamma Hammami pledged, Tuesday in Bizerte, to make every efforts to restore Tunisia’s sovereignty.

Speaking to journalists, Hammami said his electoral programme focuses on preserving national wealth and reviewing agreements that have affected both the people and the country, including the 1995 Association Agreement known as the European Union Association Agreement.

He also promised to end negotiations on the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) and put an end to Tunisia’s indebtedness.

He said that President Habib Bourguiba left debts worth around 5,000 MD while ousted President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali left 25,000 MD.

Tunisia’s indebtedness is estimated at 82,000 MD knowing that these debts could not solve the problems of poverty and marginalization in Tunisia,” he pointed out.
