(TAP)- Five cooperation agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed on Wednesday between Tunisia and Iraq following the 16th session of the Tunisian-Iraqi Joint Commission.

Jointly signed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Khémaies Jhinaoui and his Iraqi counterpart Mohamed Ali Al-Hakim, these agreements cover political consultations and cultural cooperation.

On this occasion, Jhinaoui reaffirmed Tunisia's willingness to promote partnership relations with Iraq and to diversify its fields.

For his part, the head of Iraqi diplomacy commended the holding, seven years later, of a new session of the Tunisian-Iraqi Joint Commission, saying that he had discussed with FM Khémaies Jhinaoui ways of promoting cooperation, particularly in the fields of agriculture, transport, industry, tourism, trade, higher education and scientific research.
