2019 Presidential Race: Abbou meets with Jendouba locals
12/09/2019 18:25, TUNIS/Tunisia

(TAP) - Democratic Current candidate Mohamed Abbou in the early presidential election visited Thursday Jendouba as part of his electoral campaign.

He called on voters not to rely on the promises of some candidates who go beyond the prerogatives of the President of the Republic to encroach on those of the head of government.

The powers of the President of the Republic are being overbidded in order to manipulate voters, he pointed out.

Abbou, who was speaking at a meeting in Jendouba promised to put an end to the state of anarchy and the abuses that Tunisia is experiencing and to impose the authority of the law.

He said he will continue the fight against corruption, which he said has harmed the national economy and public funds.

The candidate pledged, in the event of victory, to create a consensual relationship with the government and to establish transparency and decentralisation in order to establish a strong and just state far from the logic of partisan quotas.
