ONDCE calls for "small" government of national salvation
13/01/2020 10:15, TUNIS/Tunisia

(TAP) – The National Observatory for the Defence of the Civilian Nature of the State (ONDCE) called on the President of the Republic to choose an independent personality from among the country's senior national competences, to speed up the formation of a “small” government of national salvation.

This personality should benefit from a national and international outreach and have a clear strategic plan on the current situation, as well as on the solutions envisaged to remedy the difficulties faced by Tunisia, the Observatory said in an open letter addressed to the Head of State.

According to the Observatory, the future government must respect the principle of parity and favour the criterion of competence in specialties.

Furthermore, the ONDCE warned against any form of partisan quota in the government formation, calling for the establishment of a clear and well-studied programme to bring the country out of the crisis, complete the democratic transition process and lay the foundations of a Civil State, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution.
