(TAP) - The Ministry of Justice, on Wednesday, announced the continued suspension of court activities, until the end of the general lockdown period that has been extended by two weeks from April 5.

This measure comes in application of the decision by the National Security Council at its meeting Tuesday to extend the period of general lockdown to combat the spread of COVID-19, said the Ministry.

The Justice Department had announced on March 21 the suspension of activities in courts.

Judicial activity was limited, under the duty regime, to the Prosecutor's Office, the Investigation Chamber, the criminal courts and secretariats, from March 23 to April 4, according to that decision.
