(TAP) - The law on delegating powers to the Prime Minister to issue decree-laws, pursuant to Article 70 of the Constitution, had been submitted to the Presidency of the Republic after its adoption last Saturday by the House of People's Representatives (HPR), a parliamentary source told TAP Monday.

Under Article 81 of the Constitution, "the President of the Republic shall sign laws and ensures their publication in the Official Gazette of the Tunisian Republic within a period of no more than four days from the deadline to challenge constitutionality and the deadline to return, without any of them occurring."

This law No.30-2020 was approved by the HPR with 178 votes for, 17 against and 2 abstentions.

The bill, proposed by the government and submitted to parliament on March 25, aims to combat the coronavirus pandemic and try to mitigate its impact by hastening the implementation of the necessary measures to manage the health crisis
