(TAP) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Othman Jerandi, on Saturday, sent a message of sympathy to his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian following Friday's "terrorist attack" perpetrated against a French citizen in the Paris suburbs, said a statement from the Ministry.

In this message, the Minister of Foreign Affairs condemns "this abominable criminal act", expressing Tunisia's solidarity with France in this painful ordeal.

"Tunisia stands alongside France in the fight against terrorism and extremism which have no connection with the noble values of Islam," Jerandi said.

A history and geography teacher was beheaded in the late afternoon of Friday, October 16, in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine (Yvelines) and his alleged assailant was shot dead by police in the nearby town of Eragny (Val-d'Oise) moments later, French media had reported.
