(TAP)- Ennahdha member and spokesperson for the 100 Group Zoubeir Chehoudi cautioned against the amendment of the internal rules of procedure in a bid to extend the term of party president Rached Ghannouchi.

"All options are on the table, including the legal recourse," he told TAP.

The 100 Group, which is utterly opposed to renewing Ghannouchi's mandate, has a significant weight within the main structures of the party, particularly the Shura Council and the executive Bureau, he said.

The initiative tabled by President of the Shura Council Abdelkrim Harouni and party leader Rafik Abdessalem will be examined by the different structures of the party before being referred to the advisory body.

"The Shura Council has the sole authority to amend rules of procedure, " Chehoudi further said.

Ghannouchi said earlier the issue will be settled during the next congress of the party. He is committed to abiding by the internal rules, he added.

He also said he respects the point of view of some party leaders who are opposed to his candidacy in reference to the 100 Group.
