(TAP)- "A committee representing all parties will be tasked with developing the priorities of the next national unity government," said Mohsen Marzouk Co-ordinator of "Tunisia's Project" Movement.

In a statement to TAP after the meeting held on Wednesday at Carthage Palace under the chairmanship of President Beji Caid Essebsi, Marzouk said the committee will present the document on the priorities of the next government for the coming period during the meeting due next week.

He added that representatives of political parties and national organisations, including the ruling quartet, emphasised that the next government to be formed of skilled and experienced persons must be efficient and speed up the implementation of projects and programmes.

"The exceptional economic situation faced by the country requires the formation of an exceptional government with an exceptional programme," he said.

According to a statement of the Presidency of the Republic, the meeting held on Wednesday at the Carthage Palace as part of the ongoing negotiations on the national unity government, gathered the Secretary General of the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT), the President of the Tunisian Confederation of Trade, Industry and Handicrafts (UTICA) and the President of the Tunisian Confederation of Agriculture and Fisheries (UTAP).

Representatives of Nidaa Tounes movement, the Ennahdha movement, the Free Patriotic Union (UPL), Afek Tounes party, the “Tunisia Project” movement, the Echaab party, the Al-Moubadara party, Al-Joumhouri and Al-Massar party were also present.

According to the same source, the President of the Republic praised the efforts of all parties to ensure the success of the dialogue on the priorities of the next national unity government.
