(TAP) – Leader in Afek Tounes party Rim Mahjoub said to TAP, Sunday, that her party rejects Chahed’s new government line-up and will not be part of it if maintained as it is.

The party's reservations regard proposed names rather than the party’s representation in the new cabinet, she pointed out at the end of Afek Tounes national council.

Afek Tounes asked, she added, for a meeting Monday with Youssef Chahed to present its final position on the government composition and present its reservations.

For his part, Afek Tounes President Yassine Ibrahim affirmed that the national council remains committed to a national unity government, pointing out the imperative to discuss with Youssef Chahed certain points which, according to him, constitute “a great problem.”

Certain names in the new government line-up is among these points, he further explained.

"How can we fight against corruption with a government in which Abid Briki handles the civil service and anti-corruption fight, and in which Mehdi Ben Gharbia is in charge of associations and constitutional authorities ?" he posted on his facebook page.

Party Leader Riadh Mouakher, proposed to the post of Minister of Local Affairs and Environment, said he will renounce to the post if the party’s national council decides not to participate in the government.

Four members of the party were proposed for ministerial portfolios: Riadh Mouakher, Samira Marai (Health), Hichem Ben Ahmed (Secretary of State for Transport) and Faten Kallel (Secretary of State for Youth).
