(TAP) - The arbitration and reconciliation commission within the Truth and Dignity Authority (IVD) will soon start the arbitration sessions on the file of Imed Trabelsi, nephew of Leila Ben Ali, wife of former President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, his lawyer told TAP, on Sunday.

The arbitration hearings will take place in the presence of the Head of Civil Litigation, added Me Anis Boughattas, calling for the lifting of the arrest warrants against his client so that he can execute the arbitration decision taken by the commission.

According to the defence lawyer, Imed Trabelsi should take part in the arbitration sessions to be held behind closed door at the headquarters of the IVD. He reminded that his client had submitted a request for reconciliation with the IVD since January 2015 and was heard by the commission in Mornaguia prison.

During these sessions, Imed Trabelsi said he was willing to apologize to the Tunisian people and reveal the whole truth while accepting the conditions for reconciliation, added Mr. Boughattas.

For his part, Chairman of the arbitration and reconciliation commission, Khaled Krichi declined to confirm or deny the statement of Me Boughattas, adding that the work of the Commission are held behind closed door to protect the personal data relating to people requiring reconciliation or whose arbitration cases were presented by the State.
