National Guard breaks up Takfiri cell in Mnihla

(TAP) - The National Guard's investigation unit, located in the Mnihla area, Ariana governorate, broke up a five-member Takfiri cell, on Thursday in Al Bassatine, the Interior Ministry said in a statement released Friday night.

Two members of this group who were arrested admitted to adopting the Takfiri thought and participating in proselytising actions supervised by terrorists Abu Iyadh, Kamel Zarrouk and Slim Kantri, the statement said.

"After investigations, it turned out that the suspects have ties with terrorist elements of Daesh in Syria where one of them has died and they are in contact via the social networks with Takfiris both inside and outside Tunisia, "the statement added.

According to the same source, the group members were planning to go to Syria to join terrorist groups.

"The prosecution ordered that the suspects be detained and be brought to justice for" suspicion of belonging to a terrorist organisation and to include the other three Takfiris in the wanted list», the statement said.
