(TAP) - Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui will pay an official visit to India on October 30-31, at the invitation of his Indian opposite number Sushma Swaraj.

This visit testifies to Tunisia's keenness to boost co-operation with India as an "emerging economic power."

"Tunisia wants to build on the Indian experience in several fields and calls on businessmen and enterprises in this country to make the most of the incentives offered by the new investment code," said Friday the Foreign Ministry in a press release.

During this visit, Jhinaoui will have a working session with his Indian counterpart in New Delhi. The two ministers will co-chair works of the 12th session of the Tunisian-Indian Joint Commission which will be held for the first time at the level of foreign ministers.

The meeting aims to identify ways to develop bilateral and multipartite co-operation within the framework of the African continent, according to the same source.

The two diplomats will also inaugurate the Tunisian-Indian Business Forum to be organised in New Delhi with attendance of businessmen and representatives of different Tunisian ministries and economic structures.

The Forum seeks to explore new opportunities for co-operation, particularly in the fields of vocational training, agriculture, new technologies, business creation, pilot training, agro-food, textile and automotive components.

Organised at the initiative of the Exports Promotion Centre (CEPEX) and the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA), this forum aims to open new export markets.
