(TAP) – Three youths aged between 20 and 25 suspected of setting up a takfiri cell in the Oued Ellil neighbourhood were arrested on Tuesday evening by the Manouba National Guard’s Research and Investigation Brigade, security sources told TAP.

Postal orders addressed to the head of the gang were seized. The self-proclaimed Emir had ties with Slim Kantri (alias Abu Ayub) also from Oued Ellil who died in 2015 in an air raid in northern Falloujah in Iraq.

The suspects confessed to preparing to leave the country to join terrorist groups in hotbeds of tension. Documents, pictures and videos glorifying terrorism were found in their accounts on social networks.
