A Takfiri cell was broken up Tuesday by national guards in Tabarka, governorate of Jendouba, and six members aged 21 to 33 were arrested.

The cell members were in contact via Facebook with fellow Takfiris abroad and were glorifying terrorism, the Interior Ministry Wednesday said in a press release.

The men, who embraced the Takfiri ideology, made apology for Daesh and accused the Tunisian State of blasphemy. They also referred to security and military forces as "Tawaghit," the same source said. Two laptops were seized.

The members of the Takfiri cell were held in custody; a judicial investigation was initiated against them for "alleged membership of a terrorist organisation."

Besides, a 21-year-old woman was arrested in Douar Hicher, Manouba, over incitement to terrorism via Facebook.
