Gathered in front of parliament, MPs denounce US president's decision to recognize al-Quds as capital of Israel

(TAP) – The members of the House of People's Representatives (HPR) held Thursday afternoon in Bardo a protest rally to denounce the decision of US President Donald Trump to transfer the US Embassy to occupied al-Quds and to make it the capital of Israel.

This protest movement comes at the end of an extraordinary plenary session held at the Bardo Palace to protest against this decision.

Waving flags of the State of Palestine and photos of Koubbat Essakhra (Dome of the Rock), the deputies chanted slogans of support for the Palestinian cause, like "Palestine is an Arab state and no for concessions", "Al-Quds is ours" and "the people want to free Palestine".

The HPR held an extraordinary plenary session today to protest the decision of US President Donald Trump for recognizing Al-Quds, the capital of Israel, and to transfer the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Al-Quds.

The hemicycle was adorned with two large flags in the national Palestinian and Tunisian coloursr and deputies placed on their desks Palestinian banners and photos of the city of Al-Quds and the Dome of the Rock on which were inscribed: "Al-Quds, the eternal capital of Palestine".

On this occasion, the House of People’s Representatives passed a motion condemning the decision announced the day before by US President Donal Trump to recognize the city of al- Quds as the capital of Israel and to transfer the US embassy.

The motion was adopted with 121 votes in favour, two oppositions and two abstentions.
