(TAP) - A cooperation agreement was signed between the Municipality of Jemna (Kebili Governorate) and the International Development Centre for Innovative Local Governance (CIDGLI).

The 4-year agreement covers 5 main areas of cooperation to develop municipal actions in the region, said Nizar Nejah, Mayor of Jemna.

The first axis concerns the elaboration and implementation of a strategy for the global development of the region. "The municipality of Jemna has already begun preparing a development strategy that continues until 2030," he added.

The second axis aims to implement a strategy for the economic development and capacity building of the municipality.

The third axis is related to the training of specialised agents in communication with the various stakeholders in economic life.

For the fourth axis, it will focus on the design of a municipal plan for waste management or a municipal plan for the management of public spaces.

The fifth axis will be devoted to the training of municipal councillors and municipal officials in order to improve and develop the services provided to citizens, according to the same source.
