Medenine to host debate on "Economic Spaces of Medenine Region," June 17

(TAP) – “Economic Spaces of Medenine Region” is the focus of a seminar to be organised on June 17 at the initiative of the Local Economic Development Support Programme “Irada” funded by the European Union.

Organised at the South Technopole in Medenie, the seminar will bring together entrepreneurs, investors and financial partners of Tunisia to help them learn about the potential of the region’s economic spaces. A benchmarking on the good practices of economic spaces abroad will be presented and discussed.

Th seminar aims to promote these spaces, knowing that the Medenine region has numerous assets, including its strategic geographic position, its important natural resources and infrastructure.

The Medenine region can have a trading harbour, two industrial areas, a 100-hectarn economic activity park and a technopark for the development of the Sahara resources also endowed with a 40-hectar industrial zone.

Besides, 6 industrial zones and a logistical area are under achievement.

The Irada programme funded by donations worth €32 million, notably aims to step up the contribution of the private sector to the economic development of targeted regions, by promoting investments.

It also aims to contribute to the sustainable and inclusive economic development and to the improvement of the employability of youths and women in the eight targeted governorates: Bizerte, Gabes, Medenine, Gafsa, Kasserine, Sfax, Sidi Bouzid and Jendouba.
