(TAP) - 104 young Tunisians who have benefited from support and a further training session received certificates from the Centre d'Orientation et de Reconversion Professionnelle (CORP) on Tuesday in Sousse and were "successfully placed" in hotel complexes.

According to CORP, this reconversion project covers 4 tourism professions: Service technician, Receptionist, Cook/Pastry Chef and Waiter.

Its objective is to overcome the problem of labour shortages, in particular in the restaurant and hotel industry. It is also an opportunity for young people to develop in their professional careers.

"The job market in the hotel and catering sector offers varied career opportunities and good prospects for development. In this highly hierarchical sector where each member of staff occupies a well-defined rank, a motivated candidate will quickly gain ground to progress within his or her own institution or in other more prestigious ones," says a statement of the CORP.

The reconversion project, implemented by the Tunisian-German Chamber of Commerce (AHK) in partnership with the Tunisian-German Cooperation Agency (GIZ), aims to bring the qualifications of job seekers closer to the real needs of companies in Tunisia.
