Chahed kicks off several projects in Mahdia Governorate

(TAP) - Prime Minister Youssef Chahed, on Saturday, kicked off a number of agricultural, sanitation, investment and urban planning projects as he visited the governorate of Mahdia.

These projects consist in the construction of new sanitation and wastewater treatment plant for three municipalities (Mahdia, Ksour Essef and Rejich).

The construction works of this plant had started on November 15, 2018, at the cost of 90 million dinars (MD).

They also include the territorial development of the Hraba neighbourhood in the delegation of Ksour Essef achieved by the rehabilitation and urban renovation agency (ARRU), in addition to the national programme of distribution of photovoltaic solar panels to the families.

Accompanied by Minister of State Property and Land Affairs Hedi Makni, the PM handed over contracts of regularisation of the situation of old houses and agricultural lands to a number of recipients in the delegation of Souassi.

Chahed kicked off the extension works of a the German car cable and electronic systems manufacturing unit Dräxlmaier in El Jem. It will after the extension provide jobs to 1,250 workers, the majority of whom come from Mahdia, while the units of Sousse, Siliana and El Jem will provide 4,000 new jobs.

He also attended on a private farm in the delegation of Aitha (El Jem) the registration operation of several female farmhands in the social security system "Ahmini" that will benefit about 30 thousand women in the governorate of Mahdia between 2019 and 2020.

Besides, Chahed provided funding notices to several private promoters and youth wishing to set up their own business and inaugurated a drinking water pumping station at the Karkar delegation.
