Monastir: Arab Union for Road Safety created in Tunis

(TAP)- Bilel Ounifi, president of the Tunisian Road Safety Association, announced the creation of the Arab Road Safety Union. This project, which will be based in Tunis, already has 10 Member States.

The announcement was made on Friday, in Monastir, at the opening of the international conference entitled "Governance and Management of Road Safety".

Said Harthi, President of the Arab Road Safety Union, said that road accidents in the Arab world cause very serious material and physical damage.

He called for the development of effective ways to reduce the number of deaths and injuries on the roads.

Harthi stressed that the participants in this conference are working to identify the causes of road accidents in order to take measures to reduce the death rate.
